Backlog prioritization and UX mockups
Used usage signals and competitor research to prioritize the Email Service backlog, then translated customer problems into engineering tasks and UX design mockups.
Problem
The Email Service backlog needed prioritization across customer pain points, product opportunities, and implementation complexity. Some problems also needed clearer UX direction before engineering work could begin.
My role
I helped translate signals into product judgment, using customer feedback, usage patterns, and competitor research to shape what should be worked on next.
What I produced
- Backlog prioritization inputs
- Competitor research synthesis
- Customer pain point mapping
- Actionable engineering tasks
- UX design mockups for clearer product flows
Key decisions / tradeoffs
I weighed urgency, customer impact, engineering effort, and strategic fit. I also separated problems that needed product clarity from those ready for technical implementation.
Outcome
The work helped make backlog items more actionable and gave engineering clearer product context for customer-facing improvements.
What I learned
Good prioritization is less about ranking a list and more about making the reasoning behind tradeoffs clear.
