This site on Cloudflare
A personal website and portfolio built on Cloudflare Workers, with past newsletter infrastructure powered by Email Service and D1.
Problem
I wanted a personal website that could host writing, portfolio work, and lightweight product experiments while also giving me hands-on experience with Cloudflare’s developer platform.
My role
I designed, built, and maintained the site, including the Astro frontend, Workers deployment, and past newsletter infrastructure.
What I produced
- Astro site for writing, portfolio work, and project pages
- Cloudflare Workers deployment setup
- Past newsletter sending flow using Email Service
- Subscriber storage using D1
- Double opt-in and one-click unsubscribe flows
Key decisions / tradeoffs
I kept the site lightweight and content-first, using Cloudflare infrastructure where it helped me learn and ship without turning the site into an overbuilt platform.
Outcome
The site now serves as my main personal and professional home, with writing separated from portfolio work and the completed newsletter infrastructure framed as past technical work.
What I learned
Owning the full stack of a small personal site is a useful way to understand product, developer experience, and deployment tradeoffs end to end.
